Are you feeling down? Did you have a rough week? It’s been a bit crazy here too. Trying to stay on top of things is always a challenge as a mother and sometimes you can feel overwhelmed with making decisions, setting up appointments, prepping food, cooking said food, making sure the kids have practiced their instruments, been taken to and from games and rehearsals, done their homework, and cleaned up after themselves. Once that’s all done there is no energy left to think… or feel…or do.
Maybe your battling a chronic illness, like I am. Friend, I feel ya. This is no joke. Day in and day out you have to stay on top of your health and prepare the foods that you can eat and treat your body with the utmost respect lest you slip for a moment and everything snowballs into days of feeling pain and discomfort.
Our family is nearing a crossroads. A time when we are essentially putting our current life on pause and moving for one year to another version of our life, another state, another home and another job. This crossroads is scary and yet, it feels like maybe it’s time. Maybe it’s time to re-evaluate. How about you? Are you at an intersection in your life? Do you feel change brewing, but don’t know the specifics? or IF you should change or if it’s not really a pause, but a RESET, a time for something new? Something more SIMPLE and less stressful?
I know I’m not the only one battling things on multiple fronts, but sometimes it feels like it. If you’re like me and you don’t take the time to re-energize, to encourage yourself then today is your day! This is your moment to say: Hey! I need some lifting up right now! I need some help, some words of encouragement to get me through this day or this moment. Are you at a crossroads or struggling through daily pain or illness? You are not alone my friend. I’m here, struggling too. There is no perfection in this life and it’s messy-and that’s okay. We’ll let it be messy, but in the meantime. Here are some words of encouragement:
ASK FOR HELP
It seems like such a simple thing, to ask for help. Yet, we plow on and pull ourselves together. You are not alone! Turn to the One who can help you the most!
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” – Philippians 4:6
“For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” -Isaiah 41:13
YOU CAN DO THIS
I know it’s hard and I know some days really suck. I KNOW.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6
YOU WANT TO THROW IN THE TOWEL
There are days-maybe today when you’ve had enough. You don’t know where to start. Think:
When the world says, “Give up!”, Hope whispers, try it one more time. – unknown
When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place. – Unknown
THERE IS A BIGGER PICTURE
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him,and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. – Proverbs 3:5-7
I pray you have found some comfort in these words.
