Hello and welcome to week two of desserts for the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. These recipes are Paleo and Whole 30 compliant too. Finding desserts without flour or added sugar is quite a challenge, but I’m happy to scour the internet for you so you can get in your kitchen and get baking or in the case of our first recipe, get freezing. Enjoy!
HONEYDEW SORBET by TasteMade
Doesn’t this look so refreshing? Just one honeydew from the market will give you this delicious dessert. You will need a food processor or high powered blender to make the slushy mixture. The perfect taste for a hot summer day!
LEMON TART (AUTOIMMUNE PROTOCOL) by Healing Family Eats
I know this doesn’t LOOK like lemon, but trust me, it has the zest and juice from four lemons. If you don’t know what the autoimmune protocol is check out this post. This is a great recipe for a special occasion as it does take time to prepare.
HONEY WALNUT APPLE CRISP by Raia’s Recipes
This is super quick. I am making this for dessert for dinner tonight because we just started our week of no sugar for our kids. We do this periodically to remind both them and ourselves the affects of sugar. They are SOO calm by the end of the week, I am not kidding. Anywho, this is all sorts of yummy and is a snap to throw together.
HONEY PECAN PIE by The Tao of Dana
Okay, so this isn’t exactly summer fare, but I’ve had an obsession with pecans lately. So you can imagine how pleased I am that I found this recipe! I haven’t added almond flour into my diet yet, so I’m hoping this is something I can eat by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. However, if you are in that same boat, there is an option to skip the crust and simply bake the filling. I’m sure it’s delicious either way.
